The Story
An Egyptian multidisciplinary designer, Founder and Chief Designer of The Studio, established in 2014, Karim has built a career around a distinctive belief that the spaces we inhabit should feel as individual as the people who occupy them. A graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts in 2007, he spent six years refining his craft across design and execution before establishing The Studio, which has since expanded its presence beyond Egypt into the Gulf region.
Karim's work is distinguished by its refusal to conform to a single aesthetic language. Instead, he creates thoughtful fusions of styles, bringing together diverse influences through a foundation of contemporary lines, refined details, and a strong sense of individuality. His approach is less about creating a recognizable style and more about creating an authentic identity for every space.
His creative vision extends well beyond interiors. Over the years, Karim has explored fashion, jewelry, furniture design, and exhibition curation, allowing him to approach design as a broader cultural and creative discipline rather than a single field.
Yet his influence extends beyond the work itself. Karim is deeply invested in nurturing the next generation of designers, collaborating with universities and creative organizations through lectures, teaching, and mentorship. He views knowledge-sharing as an essential part of the design community and an opportunity to help emerging talent find its own voice.
Since 2024, Karim has also been a partner at Kairos CDC, contributing to initiatives dedicated to strengthening Egypt's design community and creating greater opportunities for creative exchange.
