Rewan Elghaba is an American-Egyptian actress, director, pantomime artist, and acting coach whose career spans theatre, television, film, and actor training in Egypt and the United States. With a multidisciplinary background in performance and directing, she has developed an artistic career that combines classical acting techniques, physical theatre, filmmaking, and international creative collaboration.
Among her most recent television appearances is the Ramadan 2026 series Sohab El Ard, in which she played the role of Sara, an Israeli military officer and delivered a powerful, impactful, and outstanding performance. Her presence in the series was widely notable for its dramatic intensity, expressive depth, and strong contribution to the emotional and narrative impact of the production. The role further reflects Elghaba’s ability to bring authenticity, energy, and memorable characterization to her screen work.
Elghaba is also attached to the upcoming film Mi'ad Asha (Dinner Date), directed by Ramy Imam and starring Ahmed Abdel Wahab. The project is currently in development, and an official release date has not yet been announced.
Elghaba holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Acting from the High Institute of Theatrical Arts, Academy of Arts, earned in 2011, followed by a Diploma in Stage Directing from the same institution in 2014. In 2015, she further expanded her filmmaking expertise through a Film Production certification at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Her artistic training extends across several disciplines and countries. She studied the Meisner Technique with American actor Gale Hansen in 2021 and Scene Study with Michelle Danner in Los Angeles in 2016. Her international theatre training includes a Pantomime Workshop with Czech artist Radim Vizvary in the Czech Republic in 2014–2015. Earlier in her career, she trained in the Stanislavski method with Dr. Mohamed Abd El-Hady and studied acting with Ahmed Kamal in Cairo.
As a director, Elghaba has worked across theatre and film, directing one feature film, one short film, and six theatrical productions, including international co-directing collaborations. Among her notable theatrical projects is the musical Moulin Rouge, presented at Sayed Darwish Theatre in 2014 and the Cairo Opera House Main Hall in 2015. She also directed If Youths Only Knew by Tawfik Al-Hakim, Death by Woody Allen, and The Mime Show, a physical theatre production that was presented at MIME FEST in the Czech Republic as well as at venues throughout Cairo.
Her directing career has also been shaped by international collaboration. In 2013, she co-directed Taxi with American director Brian Farish, while in 2015 she co-directed the pantomime production Hear the Motion with internationally recognized Czech artist Radim Vizvary. These collaborations reflect her interest in combining Egyptian theatrical practice with international approaches to physical performance and stagecraft.
Alongside directing, Elghaba has established herself as a professional actress in both Egypt and the United States. Her television credits include Sohab El Ard in 2026; Alby Wa Moftaho, in which she played Nashwa in 2025; Moftaraq Toroq, as Lobna in 2024; Alfredo, as Farah in 2023; The Godfather, as Aya in 2016; A Girl Named Zaat, as Doaa in 2013; Kalemat in 2011; The University, as Rana in 2010; and I Will Take Revenge, as Lobna in 2009. Physical theatre and pantomime represent an important part of Elghaba's artistic identity. In 2015, she participated in Arabs Got Talent, presenting a scene from The Mime Show and bringing her movement-based performance work to a wider regional audience. Her work in pantomime reflects her broader approach to acting, in which physical expression, movement, timing, and visual storytelling complement traditional dramatic performance.
Elghaba has also dedicated a significant part of her career to developing other performers. Her work as an acting coach includes teaching and coaching at Iguana Casting Agency since 2025 and at the High Institute of Theatrical Arts. She previously worked with the Actors' Syndicate from 2023 to 2025 and Turquoise Casting Agency from 2021 to 2023. Through this work, she has contributed to actor preparation, scene work, performance technique, and the professional development of emerging talent.
Her career is distinguished by the breadth of disciplines she has embraced. Rather than limiting herself to a single role within the entertainment industry, Elghaba has continuously moved between acting, directing, pantomime, filmmaking, and education. Her experience in Egypt, the United States, and Europe has further shaped an international artistic perspective grounded in both formal theatrical training and practical industry experience.
Today, Rewan Elghaba continues to work across performance and actor development, bringing together her experience as an actress, director, physical theatre artist, filmmaker, and acting coach.
